In this 3 hour class you will learn:

• A deeper understanding of both stitch and fabric anatomy
• How placing your hook in different places when working a stitch creates a completely different look and feel to your crochet fabric
• How combining different stitches creates fabric that has a strikingly different physical and visual texture
• How to crochet the following stitches:
• Alternating BLO/FLO single crochet
• Lemon peel (or Griddle) stitch
• Granny stitch in rows
• Crossed double crochet
• Brick stitch
• Two different methods for changing colours
  
• How to measure gauge, and what adjustments can help you make gauge
• Edging and adding a border to your fabric
• How to sew in tail ends

In class, participants will make a sample swatch of fabric in order to learn the above stitches and techniques. In addition, they will receive a written and charted pattern so they can practice and put all of these techniques together by making a cowl.

Participants must be 14 years or older to attend this class. For younger children who wish to learn (11 - 13), please contact us to arrange a private lesson. 

Prerequisite: Must be able to comfortably chain, work into a foundation chain, and work single and double crochet stitches. If a participant hasn’t crocheted regularly in the last 5 years, they should take the Beginner Crochet class first as a refresher.
