This book is a love letter to the Scottish coastline, where Rebecca Clow has spent her life.

Featuring 12 garments and 6 accessories, the collection draws inspiration from traditional ganseys and Scotland’s rich knitting heritage, blending timeless craftsmanship with contemporary creativity and practical warmth.

Designed for brisk sea breezes and misty coastal days, these knits are wonderfully cosy, versatile pieces to treasure in any wardrobe.

Each design captures Rebecca’s deep connection to the sea, reflecting its ever-changing textures, moods, and quiet beauty.

Inspired by cherished memories of Scottish harbour towns and sailing adventures to windswept islands with her grandparents, every pattern tells a story rooted in the landscapes and traditions of Scotland’s coast.

Rebecca Clow has become a much-loved knitwear designer in the global knitting community since she released her first sweater pattern, Cargill, in 2022.

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, she spends her time away from designing and knitting walking her dogs along the beach, reading fantasy novels, and drinking perhaps a little too much coffee. Shorelines: Knits from Scottish Coasts is her first knitting book.
