Spin with us this Tour de Fleece season! Tour de Fleece is when we spin in tandem with the cyclists spinning through Tour de France. Unlike the cyclists, there is no competition here, not even really against ourselves. We are just here to set some intentions around the wonderful fibre art that is spinning yarn and have gentle fun around that.

Some people choose to set a time goal per day, while others choose to set a gram/ounce spun goal. Usually my goal is just to spin at all and to spend a lot of time admiring other people’s spinning.

Our Ashford Kiwis and Traditionals are available for use in shop for $9/hr. (But it's free during Spin-ins! You can reserve one!)

EVENTS

Saturday June 27 11 am: Fibre swap; bring at least 100g of fibre from the same braid/lot in a sealed bag and take one of the same home! This is supposed to be a gentle and fun thing between peers. Bring nice things and take nice things home. We will not be checking each individual bag and we cannot take any responsibility for your loot! Please make sure the fibre you bring is free of damage and pests. And check your bag before leaving with it as well. We'll have a scale on hand for you.

Saturday July 4 10:30 am to 12:30 pm: Spin-in. We’ll clear some space during our usual Knit Circle time so that you can bring your wheels and spin!

Saturday July 11 1 pm to 4 pm: Learn to Spin with a Drop Spindle

Saturday July 18 1 pm to 4 pm: Drop-in Ashford Equipment Tasting Bar. We'll have hand carders, drum carders, and blending boards made by Ashford for you to try! Someone will be there to show you how to use them.

Saturday July 25 10:30 am to 12:30 pm: Spin-in
