Knitted Bag (Sarang Bag) - Guided Knitalong

Knit a fun and practical summer bag project with confidence in our Sarang Bag Guided Knitalong workshop. In this four session workshop, you will be able to knit your project in a casual and friendly "knitalong" type setting, with our experienced instructor to help you along the way. We've chosen the pattern Sarang Bag, a beautiful lace detailed bag that comes in two size options. Each of the four sessions is spaced at least one week apart so that you are given the time needed to complete your project.

The first session (required attendance) of this workshop is an Introduction to Lace Knitting, where you will learn the necessary lace knitting skills required for this specific project. The next three sessions will be a more casual setting, where you can work on your project and meet/chat with peers, and get help from the instructor as you need it. We strongly recommend that you attend all the sessions in order to complete your project with guidance, and to gain a full appreciation of the knitalong experience.

Pattern: Sarang Bag by aogyoknit

Materials Required: You must purchase your yarn for the project from Handknit. We will have a range of summer yarns to choose from, and our staff is happy to help you with your choice. Pattern calls for fine linen or cotton yarn held double or triple, but we recommend holding a single strand of DK or worsted weight yarn for ease of knitting. Pattern can be purchased on Ravelry, or in-store, as a digital downlaod to your email inbox. We are offering 10% off yarn for this class.

Skills Required: This is not a beginner class. Participants must have already completed a variety of simple projects such as scarves and hats, Participants must be able to do basic knit and purl confidently, and be familiar with a variety of techniques: casting on, knitting and purling, binding off, increases and decreases. We will also be using needles for small circumference knitting, so you will need to know how to use double point needles ( or magic loop method, or small 12"circular needles).
