Go Beyond Knit & Purl by adding some beautiful colour to your knitting with stranded colourwork! In this class we’ll show you how to incorporate the stranded colourwork technique to your personal knitting style- whether it be English, Continental, or both! While working on a simple swatch, we will explore the technical aspects of colour-work, such as floats, colour theory, colour dominance, and how to approach colour-work in different kinds of projects.

Materials Needed: Materials are not included. You'll need to bring two contrasting colours of yarn in either DK or worsted/aran weight, and corresponding needle sizes, in 16" length circular needles. You may also choose DPNs or magic loop method. 

Pattern: You must download your own copy of Anthology Recipe by Tin Can Knits, and we will be working on the adult sized Regular Cowl on page 3 of the pattern. You can choose to use either DK or worsted/aran weight and corresponding needle sizes in 16 " circular length. 

Homework: You'll need to get started on your project before the class so that work the stranded colourwork section at the beginning of class. As instructed on page 3 of 'Anthology COWL recipe', please cast on either 96 stitches (aran/worsted yarn) or 120 stitches (DK weight yarn) and work 1" in rib pattern of your preference.

Although it is not required, we recommend you practice the knit stitch in both English and Continental style.
