Architexture: Shape and Surface by Robbie Laughlin
A collection of 12 knitting patterns that have been designed with a heavy focus on texture and creative shaping, while showcasing the work of many talented Canadian dyers and small mills. The yarns chosen for this book have been selected due to their ecologically sound practices. There are yarns from a small farm in Ontario, and dyers who have chosen to find ways to reduce waste, reuse water, and avoid the chemicals typically used in the industry. Featured yarns include Julie Asselin Nurtured and Leizu DK.
Bio: Robbie Laughlin is a local knitwear designer and instructor, who has worked with yarn companies, magazines, and a few clothing companies. He has just published his first book, Architexture: Shape and Surface, and has been featured in Rib Magazine. His approach to design is to think outside the book, and break rules just for the fun of it!
