Sock Mending Workshop
Despite our best intentions and care, our beloved hand knits sometimes develop holes or become the victim of moths - if you’ve ever wanted to repair your knits but don’t know where to start, join us for to learn two different darning methods: woven and knit (or duplicate stitch) repairs. The best trick to mending is to repair your knits before they wear out - so rifle through your sock drawer and look for knits that are getting thin or have already developed holes. Techniques ex
This two hour class includes a small booklet outlining the mending methods in the class and will get you set up to confidently repair your knits once you've gone home.
Materials Included: Sock weight yarn, mending booklet
Skills Required: Basic knitting
Class & Material Requirements: In order to take this workshop, you must be able to bring with you a hand knit item that is in need of repair - any weight or gauge will do, but plain stockinette or knit stitches are preferred for beginners. We strongly recommend bringing a sock, please let us know if there’s something else you would prefer to work on. Materials will be provided at the workshop in sock gauge, but we encourage you to bring leftover sock yarn to share - the more colour the better!
