Leizu DK
Leizu DK is the same great yarn as Leizu Fingering, but in a DK gauge! Spun and dyed in Canada by the amazing Julie Asselin, the colours, texture, and knit-ability of Leizu DK is all we want in a yarn.
The name is inspired by Leizu, a legendary Chinese empress who, according to legend, discovered silk and sericulture when a silk worm’s cocoon fell into her tea. Because it’s a hand dyed yarn, we recommend that you buy enough for your project - we may not be able to get the same colour, and there are no dye lots.
Tracy’s knit a Winterberry Vest from our favourite book, Knits About Winter in Leizu DK. We also recommend knitting from the Campside series of patterns using Leizu DK - especially the Campside shawl.
If you’re thinking about using Leizu DK in your next project, we have a handy guide to using hand dyed yarn here.
