HK FALL KAL 2019
SEPTEMBER 8 - NOVEMBER 3
For this KAL, we're making fall/winter sweaters! Now is your chance to get prepared for winter by giving yourself the gift of a hand knit sweater by you. You can try a new fall yarn, or a past favourite. We have some really great suggestions on our Ravelry Group page (under 'Bundles'), along with yarn recommendations for each pattern.
You must purchase your yarn for the knit-along within 2 months of the start date, or during the knit-along until the deadline date, in order to qualify for the prize draw. You must purchase a minimum of 800 yards for your project. If your project does not meet the required yardage, you can still join, but you won’t be able to enter the draw.
Please note that this is strictly a social knit-along - there is no instruction provided. If you need extra help with your project during the knit-along, we recommend booking a private lesson ($20/hour).
Cast On Morning: Sunday September 8th, 10:30am - 12:30pm
Sunday September 22nd, 10:30am - 12:30pm
Sunday October 6th and 20th, 10:30am - 12:30pm
Cast Off Party: Sunday November 3rd, 10:30am - 12:30pm*
*Finish by the deadline date (11:59pm November 3rd) and you'll have a chance to win a $60 Handknit Yarn Studio Gift Card!
How to Join:
Just let us know you want to participate, pick your pattern and purchase your yarn! Meetings are every second Sunday for the duration of the knit-along and you’re welcome to come to any or all of the meetings.
Can't come to the meetings, or you don't live in Hamilton? No problem! You can still purchase your yarn in our online store and let us know that you'd like to join. We'll keep you posted via email for the duration of the knit-along, and of course you can keep us posted on your progress on Ravelry and Instagram!
At the end of the KAL please make sure to share your finished project by midnight on November 3rd.
Ways to share:
1. Post to instagram with the hashtag, #HKFallKAL2019
2. Email us a photo of your finished project to firstname.lastname@example.org
Remember to tag and share your progress on Ravelry or Instagram during the knit-along - sharing is a big part of the fun!! We love to repost your progress to our stories to keep everyone motivated.
