New at HKY for Fall 2022! Mill Yarn comes to us from indie-dye company Olann, in Cavan, Ireland. We love their hand-dyed Sock Lite but couldn't resist their mill's Méara Mill Yarn. Small-batch produced, each skein is a complex blend of colours - the photographs hardly do it justice! Due to the nature of this yarn, there may be some slubs/thick-and-think areas, and the colourways are similar to hand-dyed yarns - there are no dyelots! You'll see, for example, that we've separated Cactus into two batches, one is more red, the other more blue.
In our sampling, Méara blooms wonderfully, resulting in a soft and delicate knit surface. It's going to make cozy, classic sweaters and warm sturdy accessories like hats and gloves.
