The biggest in the Leizu family, Leizu worsted is a 90% superwash merino / 10% silk blend in a sweater-friendly gauge. The name is inspired by Leizu, a legendary Chinese empress who, according to legend, discovered silk and sericulture when a silk worm’s cocoon fell into her tea. Because it’s a hand dyed yarn, we recommend that you buy enough for your project - we may not be able to get the same colour, and there are no dye lots.
Check our Leizu DK and Leizu Fingering for different weights of the same yarn.
If you’re thinking about using Leizu Worsted in your next project, we have a handy guide to using hand dyed yarn here.
