Crochet Hat Workshop
In this three hour workshop you will learn and practice everything you need to crochet this beautiful hat! An ideal project for graduates of our Beginner Crochet class who are looking to complete a stunning accessory in a relatively short period of time. Made from Cascade 220 Superwash Merino this buttery soft but very cozy hat would be a perfect treat for yourself now winter has kicked in, or a lovely unisex gift for those of all ages.
If, like many crocheters, you find it frustrating or daunting to work into a foundation chain, then this hat is definitely something you should try as no foundation chain is necessary! You will learn how to make a magic circle and also how to create front post double crochet and back post double crochet stitches. Post stitches can be used to make beautiful, stretchy ribbing and to create crocheted cables. The hat is made in the round, from the top down. During the class we will aim to complete all the increase rounds in the crown section.
Materials Included: You will be provided with 2 skeins of Cascade 220 Superwash Merino in your choice of colours (enough to make the hat but possibly not enough to make a Pom Pom depending on the size of hat required)
Materials Required: 3.75mm hook, tapestry needle, scissors, two locking stitch markers
Optional Materials: Pom Pom Maker or Faux Fur Pom Pom (available at Handknit)
Experience Required: You must be able to comfortably double crochet.
